My name is  Ayla Scii. I am a member and student at Cat's Lair. I
am thirteen years old and  am taking children's Celtic classes.
Many people know me as Blue Rose, which was my childhood
name.In Nov. 2006 I was given my new adult name at my
Menarche. A Menarche is a coming of age ceremony. My
Menarche was performed outside under a full moon within  circle
of women only,  a big fire and my best friends with me, ( who
we're also given their adult names, Rhainnon Storm and Dazi
Rayne) It was wonderful, we we're given our names one at a
time, with a full discussion as to what each name stood for and
why it was given, as well as what expectations  come with each
name..  We then had a long discussion with the older women of
the circle,   about what it means to be a woman, what we can
expect out of life, love, education, careers and more.. Having my
menarche to  me meant that I  know with out a doubt that I can
go to any of the women in the circle, for advise  or help of any
kind.. it let me know that   truly belong. I also dedicated myself
that night to my Goddess. I know that she walks with me every
step and  I have her strength within me to accomplish anything
under the sky and maybe one day, even beyond....
